Restylane - The Dermal Filler with NASHA Technology

What is Restylane?

The ageing process creates fine lines and wrinkles due to a combination of factors including loss of tissue volume, bone resorption, and hyperactivity of facial muscles. It is possible to correct many of these processes by injecting dermal fillers that rehydrate the skin volume and restore facial contonur lines. Restylane is a naturally derived product called Hyaluronic Acid and has few side-effects.

Which sites benefit from Restylane?

Unlike Botox, dermal fillers can be used at virtually any site on the face. Placement of the dermal filler at the correct level in the skin requires skill and expertise. Our Aesthetic Doctors are both highly trained in the use of Restylane and other dermal fillers and will be able to advise you which products can be used to help you achieve the results you are looking for.

What is involved in treatment?

Injection of dermal fillers can cause temporary pain and stinging. Many patients manage without any form anaesthesia. However, we usually recommend application of a topical anaesthetic cream or a nerve block before treatment to minimise any discomfort. Topical anaesthetic creams takes 20-45 minutes to work effectively and a nerve block usually works after 10 minutes. We can advise about the procedure at the time of the consultation. The treatment typically takes 15-20 minutes.

What side-effects may be experienced?

The treatment will cause temporary discomfort, mild swelling and occasionally bruising. These effects usually subside within a few days and make-up can be used immediately following treatment. More rarely, dermal filler can produce lumpiness of treated skin, extrusion of the product through the skin and a lack of symmetry. We always offer a complimentary follow-up visit to assess results and to review your skin if you have any concerns about the treatment.

How much will treatment cost?

The typical cost of treatment will vary from £380 to £600 depending on the sites treated and amount of product used. It is generally better to underfill treatment areas and then top up treatments. Deeper prominent lines will require more dermal filler and a combination of treatments over several weeks.
